Sculptra in Norman, OK with Heather Franco, APRN
Sculptra
Sculptra is FDA-approved poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) — a biocompatible biostimulator that triggers your body to produce its own collagen over months, instead of adding gel volume the way hyaluronic acid fillers do. The result is gradual, natural-looking restoration that lasts longer than HA filler — typically 2 to 3 years from a complete treatment series, sometimes longer.
Sculptra works best for full-face restoration, broad volume loss (cheeks, temples, jawline structure), and skin-quality improvements that surface treatments can’t touch. Patients who want a lifted, structurally restored look — not a focal-area “fix” — are the right candidates.
Performed by Heather Franco, APRN, FNP-C — Franco Aesthetics’ owner and lead injector — and our licensed clinical team. Heather sets the clinical standard at Franco Aesthetics and trains every injector on it. The look stays consistent across the team: natural-looking results, never overdone.

How Sculptra Works
Sculptra microparticles are suspended in sterile water and injected into the deep dermis or subcutaneous layer. The water dissipates within 1–3 days — so the immediate “fullness” you see right after injection is temporary. The PLLA particles remain and trigger a controlled response from fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen. Over the next 2–3 months, your body builds new type I and type III collagen around those particles. That new collagen is what creates the lasting volume and skin firmness.
Treatment cadence: Most patients need 2 to 3 sessions, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. Final results show 2 to 3 months after the last session.
Duration: Typical longevity is 2 to 3 years from a complete series. Some patients see results lasting 4–5 years before considering touch-ups.
Aftercare: Massage the treated area 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days. This helps distribute the particles evenly and prevents nodule formation. Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours.

Sculptra patients we serve across Norman and the OKC metro
Most Sculptra patients drive in from Norman itself, but a meaningful share of our caseload comes from the broader OKC metro. Sculptra is a 2-to-3-session protocol with follow-ups stretched across 3 to 6 months, so the drive happens more than once — patients who make the commitment usually do it because they want one provider running the full protocol from start to finish.
Heather Franco, APRN leads every Sculptra plan personally. The clinical team executes the injections to her placement framework — same standard across providers, same look across patients. Norman patients see her for the initial consult; metro patients are welcome to do consultation virtually before committing to the in-person sessions.
Drive times to our Norman office:
- Norman (downtown to north Norman): 5 to 10 minutes
- Moore: 15 minutes north on I-35
- Noble: 10 minutes south
- South OKC and Nichols Hills: 25 to 30 minutes north
- Edmond: 45 minutes — the drive is real, but Sculptra appointments are spaced weeks apart, so the math works out to four trips a year for the full protocol plus annual maintenance
- Newcastle, Tuttle, Goldsby: 20 to 30 minutes from west of I-35
What patients tell us about choosing Franco over closer options: provider trust, keeping the protocol under one roof, and knowing the same clinical team sees them through every session. Sculptra results compound over months — consistent placement across sessions is the difference between a natural collagen rebuild and uneven volume.
If you’re outside this list and considering the drive, the consultation is free and we can confirm whether Sculptra is the right call before you commit to the full protocol. The protocol takes 3 to 6 months either way; the question is whether you want it done once, right, by the same provider every time.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is Sculptra different from a regular dermal filler?
Hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane, Juvéderm) add gel volume directly under the skin — you see the result immediately. Sculptra adds nothing visible at first. Instead it stimulates your body to grow its own collagen over 2–3 months. The trade-off: slower results, but they last 2–3 years instead of 6–18 months, and the result looks more like restored structure than added volume.
When will I see results?
You will see slight, temporary “puffiness” right after the injection — that is the water carrier, and it dissipates in 1–3 days. Real results show up around 4–6 weeks as new collagen builds, with full effect at 2–3 months after your final session.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients need 2 to 3 sessions, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. The exact number depends on how much volume you have lost and what areas we are treating. Heather will map out a plan during your consultation.
How long do Sculptra results last?
2 to 3 years from a completed series for most patients. Some see results lasting 4 years or longer. Annual touch-up sessions can extend that.
Where on the face does Sculptra work best?
Sculptra is best for areas with broad volume loss or where you want full-face structural restoration — cheeks, temples, jawline, the lower face, and overall skin quality. It is not the right tool for precise lip shaping or fine lines around the mouth (we use HA filler for those).
Is there downtime?
Minimal. You may have mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites for 24–48 hours. Most patients are back to normal activity the next day. Avoid heavy exercise for the first 24 hours.
What is the aftercare?
Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days after each session. This helps distribute the particles evenly and prevents nodules. Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours, and skip alcohol and blood thinners for 24 hours before and after the appointment.
Can I combine Sculptra with other treatments?
Yes. Many patients combine Sculptra with HA filler (Sculptra rebuilds the underlying foundation, HA fine-tunes specific areas), with neurotoxin (Botox, Dysport, Daxxify), and with skin-tightening treatments like Morpheus8. Heather will recommend the right sequence and spacing.
