PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
Your own growth factors, concentrated and applied during treatment. We draw a small amount of blood, spin it down to isolate platelet-rich plasma, and deliver it through the microchannels SkinPen creates. PRP accelerates healing, boosts collagen response, and enhances overall results — especially for acne scarring, texture, and skin quality. Often called the “vampire facial.”
Daxxify Glow
A micro-dose of Daxxify delivered superficially across the skin during your treatment — different from traditional injections. The result: refined pores, a smoother surface, softened fine lines, and that lit-from-within glow. A favorite before events, and a perfect introduction to neurotoxin benefits without a full injectable appointment.
Brightening Boost
A prescription-strength brightening protocol for stubborn pigment. We pair your SkinPen session with hydroquinone, the gold-standard prescription lightening agent, to target dark spots, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation at the source. Because hydroquinone is prescription-only, this add-on is exclusively available at medical practices like ours — your provider will confirm it’s right for your skin during your visit.

What can SkinPen treat?
Surface-level concerns: rough texture, enlarged pores, fine lines, mild to moderate acne scarring, melasma, dull or uneven tone, and stretch marks. SkinPen works in the dermis (top layer) — for deeper concerns like jawline laxity or deep acne scarring, we use Morpheus8 RF microneedling instead.
How is SkinPen different from Morpheus8?
SkinPen is needling-only — small needles create micro-channels at adjustable depths up to 2.5mm to trigger collagen production. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy and reaches 4mm deep, hitting the structural fibroseptal network where laxity actually starts. SkinPen for surface refinement; Morpheus8 for deeper tightening.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients need 3–6 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart. The exact number depends on the concern — texture and pores often improve in 3, while moderate acne scarring may need 5–6. Annual maintenance sessions keep results consistent.
Does it hurt?
Most patients describe it as a mild prickly sensation. We apply topical numbing 30 minutes before treatment. The face is more sensitive than the neck or body. Treatment takes 30–60 minutes including numbing.
What is the downtime?
Mild redness for 24–48 hours, similar to a sunburn. Some patients have light flaking or pinpoint bruising. Most return to normal activity the next day. Avoid makeup for 24 hours, retinol and exfoliants for 5–7 days, and sun exposure for at least a week.
When will I see results?
Initial glow and slight tightening within a week. Texture and pore improvements show up around 4–6 weeks as new collagen builds. Best results 3–6 months after a complete series.
Who is NOT a good candidate?
Active acne breakouts, cold sores or skin infections in the treatment area, recent isotretinoin use (within 6 months), keloid scarring history, immunosuppression, pregnancy. We screen at consultation.
What areas can SkinPen treat?
The face is most common, but we also treat the neck, chest, and hands — and we can spot-treat smaller areas like individual scars. Face, neck, and chest can be combined in a single visit.
Can I combine add-ons in one SkinPen session?
Yes, with one exception. Daxxify Glow pairs with either PRP or the Brightening Boost, but PRP and the Brightening Boost can’t be combined in the same session. Your provider will recommend the right combination for your skin goals during your consultation.
Is the Brightening Boost safe for my skin tone?
Hydroquinone is effective across skin tones and is often specifically recommended for treating hyperpigmentation in deeper skin tones. It is not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and your provider will assess your skin before treatment.
Is Daxxify Glow the same as getting Daxxify injections?
No. Daxxify Glow uses a diluted micro-dose applied superficially for skin texture and glow. It softens fine surface lines but doesn’t replace traditional injections for deeper expression lines like frown lines or crow’s feet.
